Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System
|
|
State of Florida Law
Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) |
What is the SLERS?
Williams Communications, Inc.,
partnered with Harris RF Communications Division, is involved in the
sustained maintenance of the State of Florida's
Statewide Law Enforcement
Radio System (SLERS). The SLERS is a trunked, digital, and encrypted 800 MHz radio system covering the entire state,
from Key West to Pensacola.
This
system is the largest radio system of its kind on the planet.
Incorporating a TCP/IP based network over a microwave backbone,
updates to the radio system can be made in seconds. Call setup
occurs system-wide in less than one-quarter second.
The system features
instantaneous interoperable
communications with
state law enforcement agencies.
All State of Florida law enforcement
and public safety agencies are utilizing this system. County Sheriff's Offices,
municipal police departments, and other authorized public safety
organizations have the option of becoming a SLERS partner, and thus
improving their communications capabilities.
Your local law enforcement
or public safety
agency can easily become a part of the SLERS network for as little
as $9/month/unit for airtime.
